Ok ok I'm here I promise!

Sorry for the horrible lack of updates - I've been busy and adventuring! Here's an update of the past week and a half:

I got to the dorms safe and sound at about 11pm on Thursday night. I crashed was up early Friday morning, not feeling any jetlag due to the lack of sleep from the previous two days. I spent much of the day exploring Seoul and my eyes wide and trying to take in everything. I even bought a towel, which I had forgotten - it's tiny. :) That night the Ithaca crew went out with Chang to eat some delicious Korean bbq. That's were I found my love - kimchi. I can't get enough! :) We had a LOT of fun that night, still getting to know each other and not even thinking about classes yet - it was fantastic.

The next day was orientation, where we were welcomed and shown around campus by students from Korea. Soon afterward, it was off to Caribbean Bay (a large water park in Korea) - we had to buy and wear swim caps, which I found QUITE amusing.^^ Afterward, more Korean bbq and then some bowling and hanging out. We stayed at a hotel that night since Caribbean Bay was a bit far, which was so fun because we slept on the floor! I was very VERY excited about that. :)

The next day we had breakfast and were soon off to the Korean Folk Village. We explored the Village and saw some traditional Korean performances. Reporters from newspapers were there and took pictures of us playing around with some torture equipment. There were also pictures of us dancing in a farmers music and dance (seen above). I knew then that I was in love with Korea.

I've had classes this week and eaten more wonderful food (kimchi, bi bim bop, these fantastic milkshakes that come in a pouch). My classes (esp Broadcast programming) require a LOT of work, but I'm ready for it! I'm excited to go to the Blue House and DMZ this weekend, as well as go out with Chang and the Ithaca crew. It's going to be a GREAT weekend!

Hello from Tokyo!

Hello all! Right now I am waiting for a flight at the Tokyo International Airport.

The 13 hour flight from Newark to Tokyo was surprisingly not that bad. I only slept for about 2 hours, but I spent the rest of the flight eating, reading, playing Nintendo DS, and watching tv on the plane. I watched 24 (first 3 episodes of season 5!!), Scrubs, What Not to Wear, the last two episodes of Will and Grace (which I did NOT like by the way), Ellen Degeneres and Dane Cook comedy specials, and probably other things I can't remember. Needless to say I was entertained.

It is currently 3:22pm in Tokyo, 2:22am respectively back home. Considering the fact that I havn't slept much in the past 2 days, I think that readjusting won't be too too hard.

I wish I had more to talk about, but alas, the adventure has just barely begun. :)

My Last Day

In case you didn't know, I'm leaving for South Korea tomorrow.

This is going to be my journal specifically for my travel adventures in South Korea (4 and a half weeks respectively) and my one week in China. I will try to keep this as updated as possible, since I know I won't be able to remember everything when I come home.

Stay tuned!
